HOW TO CHOOSE

There's a big chance that instead of relying on one bookie, you'll have accounts with muplitple bookies, and that you'll keep transfering your money between all good bookies, taking advantage of their special offers. Read the article about that here. The insinuation of a tough choice of which blonde to choose is not accidental. It's equally hard to distinguish between two top notch bookies. The difference is, in this case, you don't have to get very lucky in order to have everything you want. The bookies also don't complain if you have an account with another bookie.

In this article we will try to help you choose your main bookie, meaning, the one which you'll use most frequently. By clicking on the banners you're supporting this website and helping it grow. So, if you find this website helpful, and if you're thinking about joining a bookie, it wouldn't hurt to do it through our banners. Thanks! Or just enjoy the website without doing anything. We don't mind.

The first and the most important thing, the bookie you choose shouldn't be Austrian. The German ones also aren't a good choice because they operate by the same laws which tend to have absolute control over the customer and allow the disputes to be resolved unanimously, without your opinion making a difference. It's better not to bet with them, than witness a cancellation of your account which had money on it. They don't care who's right; when they suspect something, they go for the kill. Bwin, InterWetten, MyBet, Bet-at-home ana other Austrian or German bookies should better be left alone. No matter how much they advertise their offers.

There are a lot of bookies trying to make it in the business. Being a small bookie isn't necessarily a bad thing, and why wouldn't we give another bookie a chance to develop into a big dog? It's not true that small bookies are unreliable, they are just young. Usually they offer attractive bonuses for the new clients, no reason not to take the offer, but it would also be silly to deposit a large sum of money with a bookie which isn't on the market for at least five years. The key thing to look for is whether a bookie is honest or not. There are small honest bookies which will eventually grow bigger, but there are also small bookies which are designed only to take money from the fools' pockets. Some of them grow big, like BWin. So, it's not too important how well-known the bookie is, it's important whether they're honest. Scams are listed here (Sportsbook Review) and here (Bookmaker Watch). Another list, which also ranks the bookies is here (The Online Wire). Take note, some of the bookies advertised on this website, Pinnacle Sports and The Greek, got the maximum grade, 10/10.

It's not important that many well-known bookies are registered in exotic countries. That doesn't mean the whole deal is a scam, but that the bookie decided to register the business in a country with lower tax rates. Most of the bookies are doing this, and that's what allows them to post such good odds.

There are four main types of bookies - European, American, English and Asian. Each of them offers something unique and it's better to have one account with each of those types of bookies than, for example, four accounts with European bookies only.

European bookies are good for betting on soccer, and for playing combo tickets. They're easy to use because of decimal odds, and the offer usually includes even the lowest of the soccer leagues. European bookies have a wide variety of sports and leagues, as the combo bettors love to take those. Lots of bonuses are offered, and the money transfers are usually free, simple and fast. We recommend Unibet and Expekt:

American bookies primarily deal with US sports, and it would be illogical to place any bet on US sports at some bookie which is not American. Odds are excellent, there's a wide variety of additional bets for each match (e.g. which of the two batters will be the first to score a homerun). American bookies also offer US college sports, which isn't that common with other bookies. Most American bookies make you pay around $15 for each withdrawal, although some American bookies allows one free withdrawal per month, and Pinnacle doesn't charge anything for credit/debit card withdrawals and deposits. Odds are usualyl displayed in American odds, but most bookies offer a change of display to decimal odds. American bookies usually don't accept American clients, because of the betting law in USA. We recommend Pinnacle, SBG Global and The Greek:

English bookies are, traditionally, focused on bets outside the matches, meaning, future bets, player propositions, and all those funny bets (will a certain guy ever be English national team goalkeeper). English bookies also, naturally, offer the "normal" bets. Odds are good, but the bonuses are not, as most of them are free bets (keep the winnings only) and the bonuses rarely exceed 25 £. Still, one of the most exciting bookies on the market (Betfair) is English, and it's a whole new world, compared to the other bookies. Bet365 is an excellent bookie which rose above the English average, and among other things it offers teasers, a feature usually offered only by American bookies. It means you may "buy" a different handicap line or over/under totals, and get different odds. We highly recommend Betfair and Bet365:

Asian bookies cover most football leagues, and their biggest benefit are Asian handicaps. Asian bookies are known to have very high limits, which means even the millionaires will bet with them. Although Pinnacle and 5Dimes also have high limits and offer Asian handicaps, Asian bookies offer more football matches and will draw customers who want the best football Asian handicap market on the internet, whereas US sports punters will choose an American bookie. Odds in Asian bookies are Hong Kong, Malaysian or Indonesian, which may cause a confusion if you don't have this table with you. We recommend 188Bet, the live betting specialist.
